About the Law Office of Deborah C. Masterson

Deborah was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1985. After working as an associate she founded The Law Office of Deborah Masterson in 1993. A significant portion of Deborah’s practice focuses on issues facing the long term care industry, including regulatory issues, business office consulting, collection of receivables and litigation. Deborah also represents consumers, retail establishments and commercial clients on collection matters, including fair debt collection practices, collection of receivables and enforcement of judgments. She attends administrative appeal hearings and handles arbitration claims.

Deborah handles guardianships for both facilities and families. She works with a network of professionals who can serve as guardian and is well versed in obtaining Roger’s guardianships.

Deborah has extensive practice in family law matters, including representation in paternity actions, divorce, modifications, prenuptial agreements and divorce mediation.

Other area practices include probate of estates, wills and real estate.

Deborah lectures on topics including Guardianship Basics, Debt Collection Practices, Reducing Exposure to Quality Care Lawsuits, How to Avoid Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect Matters and  Involuntary Discharges. Deborah is admitted to practice law in both state and federal court as well as the State of Florida.

Community Involvement:

Deborah currently sits on the Advisory Board for the Fresh Pond Reservation in Cambridge, MA. This is her third year. She has recently been appointed as a member of the Half Crown/Marsh Neighborhood Conservation Commission in Cambridge, MA. She has served as a past member of the Advisory Board for the Town of Wellesley for a 3 year term and is a past member of the Personnel Board for the Town of Braintree, MA.

She enjoys mentoring college students in the practice of law and Wellesley College students work as interns.
